INFINITE just finished their concert here in Dubai last night. It was the last leg of their tour for 2013 and I wasn’t disappointed at all. It was the first KPOP group that I watched live. I watched CNBLUE 2 years ago but I consider them as KROCK :) Now let me tell you the good parts first:
-FREE!!! It was a free concert. Until now I can’t believe it. I guess Samsung and DU was feeling very generous?
-They have a live band playing. This really surprised me. I saw some KPOP concerts in Youtube and I didn’t see any live bands at the back playing. Two thumbs up!!!
-Honestly, I haven’t seen any MV of INFINITE nor I was able to listen completely to any of their songs. But after watching them, they just gain another fan from me. They sing and dance very well. Like really, really good!
-They worked really hard to communicate with the audience. They spoke in English all throughout the show especially Hoya and Dongwoo. I appreciate that they took the time to practice English so at least when they ask us to scream or ask us if we were having fun we can say YES!!!
-The staff were lenient. I saw A LOT of girls with DSLRs with powerful lenses and video cams. They didn’t do anything about it.
-The bouncers were very understanding. You can go to another seat that you prefer (if it is vacant) once the concert started. No kidding! I was in the 14th row at the beginning of the concert. By the time it ended I was on the 5th row. They were only concerned about the aisles to be free. Thank you bouncers for understanding the fangirls.
-The concert started on time.
-At the end of the show, each one of them said their Thank yous. It wasn’t a short “Thank you for coming and hope to see you when we come back”. It was a thoughtful one which was really nice and they said it in English except for the two I think. So with that I say “Thank you, INFINITE, too for giving us the first KPOP concert here in Dubai which was truly memorable.”
Now for the bad things. Actually I only have one bad thing to say about the concert and it’s not about INFINITE but to the promoters of the concert. The promotion of the concert was badly done. Many people were not aware if the concert will push through or not. Three weeks before the concert I have no idea when the sales of the tickets will begin only to know after a few days that it was free (I learned about this at 2 in the morning). Not complaining! But why wasn’t this announced earlier to the public? We have Facebook and Twitter. That is free advertising for you. Many fans wasn’t aware of this and when they tried to register to get tickets, they couldn’t get any because all of it was taken already. The most puzzling thing though is the venue was not even filled. Probably 60-70% only was occupied. It would have been nice if the concert was jam packed to show them that Dubai is ready for more KPOP concerts.
All in all it was great night. I truly hope they can come back here in Dubai and sing and dance their new songs. INFINITE you are daebak!
